Customer Problem: Needed to develop a burst and leak test for hose assemblies, to maintain quality standards. Our Solution: We designed and built a highly versatile, quick-change leak test system to handle a wide variety of tube/high pressure hose assemblies. The upper and lower main tooling arms of the hose burst and pressure decay tester are fully adjustable and counterbalanced with a reference scale for easy recording of setup parameters. The main tooling bars also rotate through 180 degrees to allow the best entrance angle for the end connector, regardless of tube bend angle. A single manual clamp on each connection provides the working seal. Quick change tooling (2 minutes) allows for different fitting ends making this leak test system versatile and convenient. When all hoses are loaded, the door closing initiates the cycle. The hoses are first power flushed with high volume fluid to remove any debris. The leak test valves close and the pressure is boosted to a max of 3,000 psi (adjustable) burst test. The pressure transducer/timer function then checks for a maximum pressure decay. Once the part passes, the valves are opened and a blast of high pressure air purges the hose of fluid. The door is then electrically unlocked and the operator opens to unload the parts. All times and test pressures are addressable through the HMI. The versatility and heavy duty construction along with the innovative design of this hose burst and pressure decay tester will allow many years of high-quality, low-maintenance leak testing.

 

Customer Problem: Develop equipment to test the micro finish of an ISO seat.   Our solution: We designed and built a manual test fixture to seal on the part with an applied force of 4.0 Newtons,  which then performs a pressure decay test at 7.0 bar of air pressure to a maximum leak rate of 25 sccm.
